About the Hurricane Sandy
New Jersey Relief Fund
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie launched the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund four days after Hurricane Sandy devastated the Garden State, to help communities recover, rebuild and come back stronger than before. The Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that will collect and distribute resources, aid in the long-term recovery effort and fill in the gaps when people need help. Since its formation, the Fund has partnered with non-profit experts who have led similar international efforts on Hurricane Katrina, Haiti and September 11th relief organizations to thoroughly identify the greatest needs within the effected communities, and help disburse funds in a responsible and efficient manner that allow our neighbors and our state to rebuild.
Over $20 million has been raised in the first three weeks from nearly 10,000 donors across the United States and the world. Honorary Advisory Board Members to date include Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Kelly Ripa, Kevin Jonas, Dr. Oz, Nick Mangold, Al Leiter and former US Senator Bill Bradley who will serve as Honorary Vice-Chair.
